Yokohama provides innovative lavatory for Boeing 757 retrofit for American Airlines®

757 Retrofit Curved Slab Door

Kent, what is ed WA, website U.S.A.—Yokohama Aerospace America, Inc., announced the delivery of a new retrofit lavatory module for use in Boeing 757 fleet aircraft. Executed under the direction of American Airlines, the lav has been successfully piloted on an American Airlines premium B757.

“At American Airlines we focus on safety, comfort, and convenience for our passengers,” said Jim Hadden, Manager of Cabin Design. “Yokohama did a great job working with us to execute our ideas for a new, ergonomically enhanced lav. The teams worked very well together and we were able to deliver a unique product that will make our passengers more comfortable.”

The B757 retrofit lavatory upgrades the standard industrial lav look-and-feel by incorporating organic shapes into the overall design. As an industry first, the design boasts a curved bi-fold entry, giving passengers more room inside the lav. Other new features include a one-piece floor plan, LCD lighting, and flexible storage behind a vanity mirror. Airline passengers benefit from improved safety, comfort, and the feeling of more space. The lavatory is currently available for incorporation into other B757 configurations.

“This new B757 lavatory retrofit allows airlines to upgrade one of the most important amenities for traveling customers,” said Kelly Stolle, VP of Marketing and Business Development for Yokohama Aerospace. “In todayís competitive air travel market, cost-effective enhancements to passenger safety and comfort create real value for our airline customers.”
